
Pranai Buddhdev
Mr Pranai Buddhdev is a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, with specialist expertise in paediatric sports knee surgery, hip preservation and complex lower limb disorders. Internationally fellowship-trained, he completed specialist paediatric orthopaedic fellowships at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, and the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, alongside visiting and travelling fellowships that have taken him to leading centres across the USA, Europe and Asia.

He established the Paediatric Sports Knee Service at Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust and has developed a particular clinical and academic interest in knee disorders and sports injuries in children and adolescents. He leads and collaborates on numerous research projects focused on paediatric knee conditions, injury prevention, surgical outcomes and innovation in children's orthopaedics, including the role of guided growth for the management of lower limb malalignment.

Pranai is also committed to global health through his longstanding work with the Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute in Tanzania, where he undertakes regular educational and clinical visits to support specialist paediatric orthopaedic care and surgical training.
